Position Overview 

The Part-Time Project & Systems Support Temp provides administrative, system, and project-related support to the Atlanta office. This 20-hour-per-week contract role requires strong computer skills, organizational ability, and professionalism in handling confidential information. JOB SUMMARY

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for consultative sales of advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for commercial and industrial construction projects. This role focuses on developing and maintaining strong relationships with mechanical contractors and design engineers, providing innovative and cost-effective solutions, and securing product specifications to drive both current and future business opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS    

Sales and Business Development: Sell HVAC materials and equipment for commercial and industrial projects, including new construction and retrofit applications.

Customer Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor and consultant to mechanical contractors by providing training on products, application guidance, equipment selection and pricing, specification support, and operational and maintenance information.

Project Support: Coordinate timely ordering and delivery of equipment to job sites, assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution, and manage billing and collections as needed.

Technical Consultation: Support mechanical design engineers by delivering technical data, product training, design consultation, and application assistance.

Territory Management: Conduct frequent travel to customer offices, project sites, and engineering firms to maintain strong client relationships and ensure project success.

Manufacturer Liaison: Collaborate closely with manufacturers on cost analysis, application and design requirements, and provide sales and marketing services to ensure optimal representation within the assigned territory.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education – Engineering degree, ME preferred, or Building Construction degree or comparable industry experience.

Experience – preferably (5) years’ experience direct selling, marketing or designing commercial HVAC products.

OTHER SKILLS 

  • Sales and Marketing skills – ability to strategically present HVAC equipment to mechanical contractors and mechanical engineers, capitalizing on needs and opportunities.  This would include mentoring quotations and presenting proposals.
  • Technical Product Knowledge – Pre-Sale and Post-Sale technical support for HVAC equipment produced by approximately 100+ manufacturers.
  • Customer Relationship skills – ability to develop working relationship with mechanical contractors and engineers by anticipating and meeting customer needs.
  • Job Management Skills – concurrent projects may exceed a hundred at various stages of development; organizational and communication skills are a must.
  • Problem Solving – ability to creatively address problem issues to point of resolution; these would include application, delivery, billing/collection issues as well as addressing job site issues.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Windows environment software used for selection, pricing, quoting, submittals, ordering, expediting shipment, billing, communicating with factories and customers.
  • Managing direct reports – delegation to and oversight of inside sales assistant(s) which would include training, team development and motivation; providing leadership and mentoring.
  • Multi-tasking and stress management.
  • Physical Requirements: mobility, bending, stooping, ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

 

Position Overview

The Estimator supports Tom Barrow’s Sales Representatives on Core HVAC product lines, which include standard equipment commonly used in commercial HVAC systems. The role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely material quotations, ensuring competitiveness and consistency across projects. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and a proactive approach to supporting both sales teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and requests for quotation to generate accurate estimates on core HVAC equipment
  • Select and price standard products such as air distribution, packaged equipment, fans, and sheet metal items using manufacturer tools and pricing data
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives to create and deliver strategic bids to contractors
  • Provide alternate product options when appropriate to meet project requirements
  • Manage multiple quotations simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • Communicate with internal teams, factory representatives, and customers to ensure accurate information and support throughout the bidding process
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and sales support

Qualifications

  • Technical aptitude and interest in HVAC systems
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and specifications
  • Spanish-speaking preferred

Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and a proactive, customer-focused approach. Hands-on training will be provided.

  • Use manufacturer software to price materials and prepare detailed quotations for customers
  • Manage post-sale activities including job booking, submittals, order entry, billing, and expediting

The Sales Trainee program is designed to prepare motivated, career-driven individuals for a long-term career in Outside Sales. Trainees begin by learning Tom Barrow’s products, pricing tools, and estimating processes before transitioning into an Outside Sales Engineer role, managing accounts and driving business growth.   • Shadow Outside Sales Engineers to observe client interactions and build sales skills
  • Develop and manage relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and building owners

The Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse operations to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely handling of HVAC materials. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, and distributing products while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Success in this role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for delivery or pickup
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper documentation and organization
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed
  • Keep warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Assist with cycle counts, returns, and stock replenishment
  • Support team members and other departments as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (training provided if needed)
