Curbing the Spread of Viruses

Since Covid first emerged, we've been talking a lot about ways to improve indoor air quality (IAQ) through strategies including filtration, disinfection, and ventilation. New standards and recommendations, including the recently published ASHRAE Standard 241, have been developed to address indoor air quality and the control of infectious aerosols.

TBCo is positioned to help building owners, contractors, facility managers, and other professionals address IAQ to create safer indoor air for building occupants.

Is dehumidification a priority?

Recently, Tom Barrow Company began representing Fisair. The name “Fisair” comes from Physics of the Air. This name relates to the adsorption processes of the company's systems, which have no chemical exchange or deliquescent process.

Fisair supplies a range of desiccant dehumidifier series adapted to specific applications. Each series is equipped with the highest quality components and a design centered on simple maintenance and low energy consumption.

How Does an Overhead HVLS Fan Affect Airflow?

Using a ceiling mounted Big Ass fan provides bi-directional airflow and elevated air speed as a powerful way to keep workers and guests comfortable in a space. Immediately underneath a Big Ass fan, airflow is pushed downward.

Outside its diameter, the airflow transitions to horizontal air movement, providing comfortable airflow over a large area as per ASHRAE Standard 55’s thermal comfort calculations.

This month we’re featuring TBCo VP and Tampa Branch Manager, Cyril John.

Cyril joined the TBCo Tampa team 7 ½ years ago, and he continues to grow in his role, along with the company. “I am proud to be a part of a company that is constantly pushing to grow and innovate. Being stagnant is not an option. However, as we grow, our guiding principles have stayed constant; integrity, accountability, respect, and continual development,” said Cyril.

Alan Green: Hitting the Ground Running

This month we’re featuring Alan Green, our TBCo VP and Nashville Branch Manager.

Alan will celebrate his 25-year anniversary with Tom Barrow Company this spring and has managed three branches during that time. Since joining the TBCo Nashville team as branch manager in May 2023, he has developed a strong sense of pride in the branch and the city! When asked what makes the Nashville branch unique, he didn’t hold back. “Everything about ‘Nashvegas’ is unique and better! Our Broadway is better, and obviously our hot chicken is the best. We don’t need to prove how good we are – everyone knows it!”
