As part of our 70th anniversary celebration, we’re honored to spotlight Juana Collins, a cornerstone of the TBCo Nashville team in her multifaceted role – Billing/Receptionist/Admin Support. With 31 years of service, Juana has witnessed remarkable transformation – both in how we work and in the workplace itself. Her journey reflects the dedication, adaptability, and team spirit that make Tom Barrow Company such a special place.

Juana began her TBCo journey as a sales assistant, back when day-to-day operations looked very different. She recalls a time before digital systems, when efficiency meant knowing exactly which drawer held a specific job file. “Gone are the days of mail runs to the PO box, handwriting and faxing factory orders, not to mention pulling cut sheets and O&M out of the factory’s books and making copies. All jobs were in folders, which meant using filing cabinets. Before the job was done, we had memorized the job number and which drawer it was filed in!”

From typewriters and fax machines to today’s tech-based systems, Juana has grown alongside the technology, adapting to every new system with determination and pride. “Keeping up with the changes in new programs, past and present, has brought efficiency to not only my work, but also the TBCo Nashville branch.”

One of her standout memories was the move into the new Nashville office. “The old building had dim lighting and partition walls, making for a loud work environment. Not only does the new building have floor-to-ceiling windows allowing natural light to shine in, but we also have interior doors!”

Juana is clear about what makes her proud to be part of Tom Barrow Company. “I’m proud to work for a company that cares about its employees and believes in integrity and respect.”

After three decades with TBCo, her advice for team members beginning their journey with the company is clear and concise:

  • Show up on time.
  • Be willing to learn new things.
  • Show your commitment.
  • Care about your fellow team members – when one of us succeeds, we all succeed.

Thank you, Juana, for your years of hard work, adaptability, and dedication to the success of the Nashville team. We look forward to what the future holds for TBCo Nashville – with team members like you, it’s sure to be bright.
