This month, we’re featuring John Simitses, VP and Southeast Florida Branch Manager for Tom Barrow Company (TBCo).
When asked what makes the Southeast Florida branch unique, John highlighted its history: “Our branch is the newest of TBCo’s eleven locations. It was established 2-1/2 years ago through TBCo’s acquisition of CMH Solutions, Inc., a company Dwight Sley and I founded in January 2005.”
John expressed pride in two key aspects of his branch: “First, I’m proud of our team’s hard work and effort in integrating into TBCo, especially with new HR, accounting, and sales platforms, all while maintaining our focus on customer service. Culturally, the transition was seamless, as TBCo’s core guiding principles—Integrity, Accountability, Respect for Individuals, and Continual Development—aligned perfectly with our values. Our adherence to these principles is the second reason I take pride in this team.”
He also shared a success story from the Southeast Florida branch: the award of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center project at the University of Miami. “This project exemplifies how TBCo branches and team members collaborate toward a common goal. Three team members from different locations played key roles in securing this project, making it a significant win for us.”
Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, traveling, skiing (both snow and water), and watching collegiate and professional sports. His son resides in Orlando, and his daughter recently married and lives in Tampa. In July, John proposed to his girlfriend, and another wedding is now being planned.
As a first-generation Greek-American, John is fluent in both Greek and English and enjoys volunteering at his church.
Thank you to John and the Southeast Florida team for exemplifying Tom Barrow Company’s core principles. Your hard work and dedication to our customers are truly a formula for success. We look forward to seeing what exciting projects lie ahead.
